In front of a standing-room-only crowd of over 6,000, Brazil edged host India 25-19, 17-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-9 during the semifinals of the FIVB Men’s Junior World Championship being played at Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune, India.

India Head Coach M.H. Kumara:
“We have exceeded expectations in this tournament and played a fantastic game in the semifinals. As a unit, we played great. We have one more match tomorrow (versus Argentina in bronze medal match) with the hope of medaling.”

Brazil Head Coach Percy Oncken:
“This was a very difficult match. I would like to congratulate India for playing at a high level and its improvements to its team. Today, we managed to play well at the most crucial moments, especially in the fifth set. Tomorrow, we have one more difficult match versus Cuba in the gold medal match.”

Brazil Captain Murilo Radke:
“This was a very, very difficult match for us today. In the end, we did not make many mistakes in the fifth set.”
