With most Human Resource Departments across companies looking to entertain their employees with carrots and perks , Sports has come up as another wonderful win-win option and solution , for both , HRs and employees. Inter Office Games and match-ups have now become a regular affair over the weekends and corporates now fight not only in board rooms but are rivals also inside stadiums and grounds across the Pune city area. With an organized effort by private sports event managed groups , inter-corporate & office matches in sports like cricket , football , volleyball and basketball are a big hit amongst the employees. Companies too spend a good lum-sum as participating fees, as they see employee satisfaction and loyalty levels go up with such events.

The rivalry of the IT giants Infosys and Capgemini on the Football pitch to the State Bank and Bank of India matches in Cricket ,  along with the individual heavy weights in Badminton and Table Tennis from Tata Motors , Companies have taken participation in sports to a different level. With Tech Mahindra initiating an in-house inter DC Basketball Championships and Pune FC partnering up with Infosys for hosting the inter-IT Football League , a community driven sports approach will lead to only betterment of the sport at the grass root level. Sports Federations across Pune and Maharashtra or for that matter India should look towards the professionalism in approach maintained by Corporates to run , participate  and develop sports and sporting talents.

TIS Reviews

The initiative is unique and much needed in a country like India. The site is interactive and provides information updates on various sports. In a country which is swamped with Cricket and related site. theindiasportal offers a pleasant break. I see the site having a long term impact on the way athletes and the less-famous sports are treated in India. I wish the site best and look forward to increased density of information on the site. You can also tie up with various clubs which can put in information directly on the site. Also start a discussion forum. - Deepankar Agarwal
