October 4th , 2010 will be written in the history books of Pune not only for Football but also with respect the sporting culture and the numerous sports enthusiasts the city has in terms of the vibrant youth as well as the traditional purists. Being named the Sports City after the '94 National Games to the recent Youth Common Wealth Games , the Junior World Badminton Championships , the FIVB Men's Junior World Championships and the I-league 2009-10, Puneites have responded to sports events with their huge numerical presence at the venue, the first Indian International Football Match in Pune wi [ ... ]

How many of you know local heroes? Men and women who have represented their sport at national or state or even inter city level. Interested few know their achievements, but hardly anybody knows them, their stories, their sacrifices and their moments of glory.We believe that their stories need to be told. Their talent needs to be showcased. We intend to provide a platform for all such budding sportsmen/women.

hey guys, this is really a superb initiative in highlighting the sports events and heroes that the media would give a miss (intentionally or not). Just a suggestion : How about having a section for the unsung sports heros (local/national), (current/past),. A section that would showcase their achievements. e.g. Chetan Baboor : Played national level at 16. Won 2 CWG gold. Arjun Award winner. Won national title 4 times. - Abhijeet
